How Bier Turnier handles your data

This policy applies to Bier Turnier as an app for iOS and for Android, and to the companion website bier-turnier.com on which this policy is published. The same principle applies on every channel: as little data as possible, and none of it on a provider server.
Bier Turnier runs entirely locally on your device. There is no provider server that stores or analyses your tournament data. Your tournaments with teams, players and results are kept only in your device storage. This data leaves your device only when you use one of the sync features yourself.
The website bier-turnier.com serves as an overview and publishes this privacy policy and the legal notice. When it is accessed, the hosting provider processes technically necessary access data such as your IP address, the time of access and the page requested in server log files, in order to deliver the page and maintain security. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website sets no cookies and loads no app content.
The app is distributed solely via the Apple App Store and Google Play and runs locally after installation. When downloading and updating, Apple or Google process data under their own responsibility according to their respective privacy policies. From the stores, the provider receives only aggregated statistics that are not linked to individual people.
If you enable cross-device sync via Google, you sign in with your own Google account. The app uses only the narrowly scoped «drive.file» permission, which accesses only files created by the app itself or explicitly selected by you. For your tournament state, a single file is created in your own Google Drive, serving as an encrypted mailbox. The content is end-to-end encrypted on your device; the key is contained only in the share link or on the participating devices. Neither Google nor the app provider can read the content. None of this data is transferred to the provider, sold, used for advertising or passed to third parties. Use complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy including the Limited Use requirements. Processing by Google itself is governed by Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com. You can revoke the app's access at any time in your Google account security settings and delete the storage file in your Drive.
Bier Turnier can sync tournaments directly between two devices on the same Wi-Fi. Here too there is no provider server; the data flows directly between your devices. A sync only happens once you actively start a connection and pair the devices via a QR code; the connection is transport-encrypted. To read the QR code the app accesses the camera, and for the connection itself the local network. Both accesses serve only this purpose; no camera images are stored or shared.
Bier Turnier sets no advertising or analytics cookies and includes no tracking or analytics services. Local storage is used solely for the app's function, such as saving your tournaments and settings.
Your local data remains stored until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. A file shared via Google remains until you stop sharing or delete the file in your Drive. The website's server log files are deleted by the hosting provider after a short time.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Since the provider itself stores none of your content, such requests generally concern the data processed by the website host or by Google, which you can assert there directly. For questions to the provider, use the email address given in the legal notice. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
This privacy policy is adjusted when Bier Turnier or the legal requirements change. The version published at the time applies.
